OBSERVATIONS: WOOD PRODUCT FROM IIDEX'13

I recently attended IIDEX in Toronto, Ontario and came across this stunning new take on a bent wood lounge chair. I love the layers and the balance of textures! Great design from a budding Canadian Designer.

The designer of this table top used the natural fissure in the wood to create a unique detail and design element, brilliant!

Maple clothing hangers in the form of hockey sticks, it doesn't get any more Canadiana. Love it!

These live edge wood cutting boards are oversized and unique pieces of natural art.

"Dining on natural, reclaimed, organically treated, and artfully crafted wood can help us discover our community with all our earth and each other." - Bill Major, artist

I was really impressed with the creativity shown by Canadian designers and craftsmen in many different media forms at IIDEX this year. The use of organic materials is an ongoing strong trend.
